Many people may not know these ideal sleeping positions can provide you with the most relaxing night's sleep.

The sleep expert emphasizes the importance of sleeping positions

Back pain has become increasingly common, particularly due to sedentary jobs that require prolonged hours of sitting and hunching over computers. However, the position we sleep in can also play a crucial role in maintaining a healthy spine and preventing potential health issues.

While it's impossible to control our movements during sleep, starting in the right sleeping position can have a significant impact on spinal health.

Levitex, a sleep expert with over a decade of experience working with individuals with critical injuries and chronic illnesses, has focused on improving their sleep quality.

He consistently shares videos that emphasize the significance of maintaining good posture, adopting appropriate sleeping positions, and understanding the essential nature of restful sleep.

By highlighting the importance of posture, Levitex helps viewers understand how proper spine alignment during sleep can reduce discomfort and alleviate issues like neck and back pain.

Two optimal sleeping positions can enhance your body's capacity for rest and recovery

Levitex suggests that even if you already sleep well and don't experience any issues, it can still be beneficial to consider making changes to your sleeping position to maximize your body's ability to rest and recover fully.

In one of his TikTok videos, which has gained over 2.9 million views, Levitex emphasizes the importance of avoiding sleeping on your stomach.

He states that he considers two optimal sleeping positions the best for relaxing sleep: the dreamer and the soldier postures.

What exactly are the 'soldier' and the 'dreamer'?

One of the recommended sleeping positions, often called the "dreamer," resembles the fetal position.

In this position, you lie on your side with your knees slightly bent and your arms in front of you. It creates a cozy and comfortable posture for sleep.

To enhance support, you can place a pillow between your knees as an optional extra. This additional pillow provides added alignment and support for your body.

According to experts, the dreamer position puts the least amount of tension on the spine, allowing for a more relaxed sleep experience.

The second sleeping position commonly referred to as the "soldier" involves lying flat on your back. This position is beneficial for your spine as it allows for an even distribution of your body weight.

When you lie on your back, your spine is naturally supported by the mattress, promoting proper alignment. To enhance support in the soldier position, you can place a pillow underneath your knees.

This slight elevation of the knees tilts the pelvis and increases the contact between your back and the bed, providing better support for your spine.

Sleeping on your stomach is not recommended by experts because of potential health risks

According to Leinhardt, while there are various sleeping positions, he advises against sleeping on your front (stomach) unless you have a specific medical condition that necessitates this position.

Leinhardt specifically recommends the "dreamer" and the "soldier" positions as they are considered beneficial for spinal health

By understanding and promoting proper sleeping positions, Leinhardt aims to enhance the well-being of individuals by optimizing their sleep.

This can contribute to better spinal alignment and reduce the risk of developing or exacerbating back problems.
