A father has sparked a debate after sharing a video explaining why he doesn't 'help' his wife with chores and looking after their four children.

J.R. Minton is from Dallas, Texas, and lives with his wife Brittany and their four children. They frequently discuss their family life on TikTok, where his account is known as @minton__jr.

In a recent video, the UPS driver made a bold statement as he explained why he doesn't help his wife with chores around the house: 'Because I do what I'm supposed to do as a father and a husband: I cook. I clean. I do the laundry. I take care of the kids.
'I can't "help" my wife do those things because they are my job too. Change the way you speak, change the way you think, and grow the f**k up and be a man.'

Many women were initially taken aback by his statement. Meanwhile, others took to the platform to commend J.R., describing him as 'a real man, husband, and father.'
One person said: He does half the household chores but doesn't like people calling it "helping his wife" because he sees it as equally his work to do.
A second wrote: He said he does not assist his wife in these. He actually does them because he sees them as part of his chores.

A third commented: None of them deserve a lovely man like this. He has a very lucky wife.
Someone else said: We share everything equally in our house. The wife does the cooking, washing up, ironing, makes the beds, mows the lawn, mends the car, does the decorating, washes the windows, goes to the supermarket, cleans the gutters, tidies the garage, feeds the goldfish and the budgie and walks the dog, and I do everything else.
Another continued: I didn't do the cleaning or laundry or look after our children- because I was out working to provide for them while my wife stayed at home as she wanted to. I did however do all the cooking because I wanted to enjoy the food I eat!
No, he's not a lazy so-and-so, his message is that in a partnership you work together. None of the macho, it's her job malarkey but a genuine caring soul. Another added.
