An influencer has sparked controversy by sharing her unusual skincare hack, claiming that she never washes her face at all.
A fashion influencer named Danielle Bernstein has caused a stir online after sharing her unusual skincare routine.
During an episode of the podcast “The Skinny Confidential Him & Her,” Bernstein revealed that she does not wash her face.
This surprising admission has led to a lot of discussion among listeners and on social media.
Influencer shares unusual skincare hack of never washing her face
Bernstein, who is also known by her brand name WeWoreWhat, was asked by host Lauryn Bosstick about her skincare tips.
To everyone’s shock, she said, “Literally, I don’t wash my face.”
Many listeners found this hard to believe, especially since she often wears heavy makeup.
How does she often clean her face?
Instead of a traditional cleansing routine, Bernstein uses a Neutrogena makeup wipe to remove her makeup.
“I use a Neutrogena makeup wipe, which I know is, like, a no-no, but there are some people that just naturally have good skin,
I don’t really use that many skincare products,” she explained.
She claims that this method works for her, even though it is often criticized by dermatologists.
After using the wipe, she simply splashes her face with water.
Bernstein explained that she does not use many skincare products, relying mainly on a serum with hyaluronic acid and a moisturizer.
Bosstick, who has her own skincare line, expressed her disbelief.
She suggested that using makeup wipes can pull the skin down, which isn’t good for maintaining healthy skin.
However, Bernstein reassured her that she tried to be gentle while using the wipes.
“The only thing you really pull when you’re using makeup wipe is your eyelashes for the mascara,
so I always go up, and then I rub up here, versus down here,” she said.
How did people react to the woman’s skincare method?
In the podcast clip that went viral on TikTok, many viewers shared their thoughts.
Some users commented that they also do not wash their faces and have seen improvements in their skin.
Another user agreed, stating that their skin improved significantly after stopping the use of products.
Bernstein’s approach may seem extreme to some, but she is not alone.
Many people are moving away from traditional skincare advice and trying new methods.
The rise of social media has allowed influencers to share their unique routines, leading to a mixed bag of opinions.
While some fans applaud Bernstein for her honesty, others worry about the potential risks of not washing her face.
Leaving makeup on overnight can lead to clogged pores, breakouts, and other skin issues.
Both my sons (30 and 21) wash their face with water without soap or cleansers. Seems to work for them, it’s kept their skin looking good, one user wrote.
Drink lots of water every day and don’t use harsh soaps some days I don’t wash my face at all I have 0 wrinkles going on 67 so that’s probably all the water I drink more than anything else, the second shared their skincare method.
I rarely wash my face with any kind of product. I shield my face from the sun and at 67 I have very little wrinkles, the third user commented.
Unless someone lives in a vacuum-sealed room, dust dirt, and oils form on your skin, all of your skin. I think some form of cleansing is going on, another wrote.
That’s why she’s an influencer instead of somebody’s girlfriend, someone joked.
Experts commented on the influencer’s skincare hack.
Despite the support from some listeners, experts advise against skipping facial cleansing.
Dermatologists recommend washing your face at least once or twice a day.
Dr. Lindsey Zubritsky, a dermatologist from Mississippi, noted that cleansing is important for most people, especially after sweating.
“For most people, you only need to cleanse once or twice a day or after sweating,” Mississippi-based dermatologist Dr. Lindsey Zubritsky clarified.
Dr. Dendy Engelman, another dermatologist, emphasized the importance of morning cleansing.
She explained that washing your face in the morning is especially necessary if you used retinol the night before, as it can cause sun sensitivity.
