Pierce Brosnan given court date and risks jail after making Yellowstone National Park mistake

The actor James Bond, Pierce Brosnan, is facing some time in jail after being caught walking in Yellowstone National Park.

Brosnan is not only potentially facing a $5,000 fine but also the possibility of jail time after being caught wandering in Yellowstone National Park.

The actor, known for his iconic role as James Bond, is accused of 'violating rules' at Yellowstone National Park in the USA. He has already received a court date in Wyoming, having been 'cited twice' for allegedly 'straying from the designated path' in an attempt to get a closer look at thermals in the Mammoth Terraces.

According to the record filed in the United States  District Court, Brosnan allegedly strayed from designated paths during his visit to the park, renowned for its hydrothermal and geologic features.

However, the details of Brosnan's park visit remain undisclosed. The 70-year-old has been charged with travel in all thermal areas and [within] Yellowstone Canyon confined to trails', as well as 'violating closures and use limits'.

The visitor was informed about the designated paths. 

According to the website of Yellowstone National Park, they strongly advise visitors to adhere to designated paths at all times, emphasizing the website: "Stay on boardwalks and trails in thermal areas. Hot springs have injured or killed more people in Yellowstone than any other natural feature."

The site claimed that these pathways are crafted to safeguard both visitors and delicate thermal formations.

They also warn about the potential dangers of hot springs, including severe burns and scalding water beneath the fragile crust around them. Temperatures at the springs of Mammoth Terraces often reach as high as 161°F.

Although both of Brosnan's citations are classified as petty offenses, they carry the possibility of a jail term of up to six months and a fine of up to $5,000.
