Additionally, the two air fryer ovens may overheat, resulting in the shattering of the glass door, presenting fire, burn, and laceration hazards. Approximately 187,400 units are being recalled in the US, along with another 99,900 in Canada.
Owners of Ninja air fryers, a leading brand in the US, can breathe a sigh of relief as their products are unaffected by the recall.
However, owners of the recalled Insignia air fryers are advised to discontinue use immediately.
According to the report, customers can get a refund at Best Buy stores.
Instructions for submitting device photos, model numbers, and purchase receipts, as well as guidance on disposal, are available via a provided link. Customers are eligible for a refund in the form of a check or Best Buy store credit, with reimbursement based on the original receipt or the average sales price over the past three years.
Best Buy has received 24 reports of incidents related to the recalled air fryers, including cases of overheating, melting, and glass shattering, with six instances resulting in fires. Fortunately, no injuries or property damage have been reported.
