John Reynolds, 35, bought a three-bedroom house in Texas for just $19,000, according to The Mirror. The house is in disrepair and needs extensive renovation.

Three months after the renovation started, heavy rain revealed a huge swimming pool of 165 square meters and a volume of 151 cubic meters under a pile of garbage and leaves in the back garden.
Earlier, Mr. Reynolds had noticed a small patch of concrete fringing, but because of the overgrown garden, he thought it was just the edge of a flower bed and focused on renovating the inside of the house.

The man spent about $9,500 just cleaning up the trash in the pool. Fortunately, there is no crack in the bottom of the cylinder, and it can still be used as usual.
It is estimated that the remodeled value of the old home has increased from $19,000 to $210,000 because of the huge swimming pool.

"It felt like I had stumbled across a winning lottery ticket. When I bought the property, I never imagined I would be swimming in my own pool. I initially bought it as a small investment, intending to refurbish it and sell it for a profit. However, it came with so many surprises that I don't know if I can let it go," Reynolds said.
Ultimately, Mr. Reynolds shelved plans to sell the house and make it his permanent residence. But it will cost him $150,000 to complete the construction and restore the pool to its original condition.
