Eating garlic can have several benefits, including making men more attractive to women, boosting the immune system, fighting aging, and increasing endurance.

1. Eating garlic makes you more attractive

In a 2016 study conducted by Czech and British experts, it was found that women who were attracted to male body odor tended to consume garlic more frequently than others. Surprisingly, to make a positive impression on women, one should consume only two cloves of garlic roughly 12 hours before a date.

There is no definitive explanation yet for why women are attracted to men's body odor or why garlic plays a role in this. However, scientists speculate that garlic's antibacterial properties might help control body odor caused by sweat.

2. Garlic improves the immune system

Garlic is rich in various vitamins, beneficial oils, and amino acids. Regular consumption of garlic during the winter season can help prevent diseases. This is because garlic contains allicin, an organic compound known for its ability to combat bacteria and fungi.

If you want to maximize garlic's disease-preventing properties, opt for fresh garlic. Allicin is generated when plant cells are cut or crushed, causing the garlic's components to mix and form antibacterial compounds. Meanwhile, heating garlic can diminish most of its beneficial properties.

3. Garlic helps maintain stable blood pressure

Garlic has the effect of lowering bad cholesterol in the blood by 10-15%, halving the risk of heart disease or stroke. However, this is not the only treatment and you should consult your doctor before using garlic.

If you have high blood pressure, consuming garlic can be beneficial because it helps dilate blood vessels and lower arterial pressure. This can lead to reduced headaches and less stress on the heart.

4. Improve memory

A research article titled "Effects of Eating Garlic on Antioxidant Parameters of Plasma and Red Blood Cells in Elderly People," published by the U.S. National Library of Medicine in 2006, highlighted that garlic contains a variety of active ingredients that can help prevent brain aging.

Eating garlic may lower the risk of Alzheimer's disease in older adults and improve memory in younger adults.

5. Increased endurance

Garlic enhances the efficiency of both the heartbeat and muscles. If you engage in physical exercise, incorporating garlic into your diet can improve your performance. In ancient Greece, a time when doping was nonexistent, athletes were given garlic to boost their running and shooting abilities compared to their opponents. Furthermore, garlic can help alleviate fatigue, enhance work productivity, and provide warmth during cold winters.

6. Beneficial for skin and hair

Garlic promotes hair growth, resulting in longer and thicker hair. Some people create odorless garlic oil to address hair loss concerns. Consuming two cloves of garlic daily can stimulate the natural production of collagen and elastin in the body.

According to a 2016 study conducted by the Department of Food and Biotechnology at Hanseo University in South Korea, garlic's components have anti-aging effects on the skin.

7. Relieves toothache

Garlic offers significant benefits to oral health due to its antibacterial and antifungal properties. It eradicates harmful bacteria, aids in the healing of gingivitis, and reduces the risk of tooth decay.

8. Helps lose weight

A 2003 study published by the U.S. National Library of Medicine indicated that when the diet is imbalanced and unreasonable, garlic can prevent weight gain and promote the burning of excess calories in the body.

However, doctors do not recommend consuming large amounts of garlic during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Children under 7 years old should also eat garlic in moderation. Do not eat garlic two weeks before surgery because it can thin the blood.
