The Baltimore Bridge Collapse incident has left six construction workers presumed dead.

A large cargo ship struck the bridge early Tuesday, causing a section to crumble into the Patapsco River.

The incident has been declared a "mass casualty event" after the Baltimore bridge collapsed upon being struck by a cargo ship.

According to reports, the missing construction workers are believed to be from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador. One of them, Miguel Luna, a 49-year-old husband and father from El Salvador, had lived in Maryland for nearly two decades. 

After the heartbreaking incident, the wife was devastated by the news of her husband.

Miguel's wife, María del Carmen Castellón, is heartbroken as she waits for answers while recovery efforts continue.

She told Telemundo 44, “They only tell us that we have to wait, that for now, they can’t give us information. [We feel] devastated, devastated because our heart is broken, because we don’t know if they’ve rescued them yet. We’re just waiting to hear any news,”

Another victim of the incident was determined.

Maynor Yassir Suazo Sandoval, 38, a father of two from Honduras, is also among the missing.

He had been living in the US for about 18 years. A family friend posted a touching tribute on social media, calling Maynor "a guy with warmth...a vision and mission to serve our community."

As per the latest news update, six construction workers have reportedly died.

After a daylong search, officials called off the rescue mission and said six workers were presumed dead. Two bodies – those of Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes from Mexico and Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera from Guatemala – have since been recovered from a pickup truck in the water, Maryland State Police said Wednesday.

An official said that divers located the bodies of Alejandro Hernandez Fuentes, 36, and Dorlian Ronial Castillo Cabrera, 26, inside of a red pickup truck that was plunged 25 feet into the frigid Patapsco River after the impact.

A day earlier, workers named two other victims as Miguel Luna, 49, and Maynor Suazo, 38. 

The current cause of the collapse of the Baltimore Bridge is under investigation.

On social media, many express their heartbreak over the incident and pray for the ill-fated victim.
