Each stretch of allotted paid sick time ranged between three and eight hours per day in both months.

In the comments section, the disgruntled employee suggested that her action was prompted by her workplace's insensitivity to the passing of her grandmother.

She wrote: 'I hate calling out! But my grandmother had just passed and they was blowing me! But they tightened up on the policy now.'

In another response, Britt explained that h one of her benefits was an annual base of 80 hours of paid sick leave, which she accumulated year after year until she had hundreds of hours to spare.

Numerous commentators sparked a divided response after the employee's subversive act, albeit technically compliant with the rules.

One person said: I don't think I would employ this woman now she's exposed herself as manipulative, I'm guessing many others wouldn't want her either.

A second wrote: So in other words, she was PAID 8 hours a day for who knows how many years, for a job that only takes FOUR. Paid twice what she's worth and STILL complains...

While a third commented: Tacky and good luck getting hired to a new position. If she gets fired she will sue for discrimination. Pathetic

Another said: Just remember when you're bunking off, somebody else has to cover your work load, to me this proves you're not a team player.
