This city is dubbed one of the sunniest places in the world due to its heat up to 50C.

Yuma, a city in Arizona, is known as the sunniest place on Earth.

The locals there experience extremely hot temperatures, reaching up to 50 degrees Celsius. Therefore, they prefer to go out only at night when it's cooler.

Life in Yuma is very different from the gloomy weather in the UK

British people are used to rain and clouds, so they might find it strange to have too much sunshine.

In Yuma, they have an incredible amount of sunshine, around 91% of the year, which means they get about 4,055 hours of bright sunlight out of a possible 4,456.

The non-stop sunshine in Yuma can be a lot for the people living there.

They start their daily routine by waking up and opening their curtains to see bright sunshine and a clear blue sky with no clouds.

Michiel Stavast, who runs a local tour company called WeVenture, often takes groups of people who want to enjoy life without worrying about rain.

He says that living in a desert means enduring extremely hot temperatures during the day, so it's important to stay indoors to avoid getting too hot.

That's why most activities happen in the evening when the city becomes cooler.

Yuma has a consistent weather pattern all year round. It doesn't experience much change.

The city gets very little rainfall, only about three inches (89 mm) each year, which makes it one of the driest places in the world.

Yuma is located near a big highway, so it gets visitors who are passing by on their way to other places.

It also attracts "snowbirds" who come from the cold northern regions to enjoy the warm weather during the winter.

People choose Yuman because it's known for its sunny and warm climate.

Even though Yuma has extremely hot temperatures, its winters are relatively mild, and this brings benefits for agriculture.

The occasional freezing temperatures help Yuma become a significant supplier of greens, producing an astounding 90% of all the lettuce consumed in the US during a remarkable year.

Additionally, tourists have the opportunity to learn more about the area's rich history by visiting the Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park, which used to be a prison but is now a state park and a popular attraction.

On the other hand, there is Mawsynram in India, which is the complete opposite of Yuma and is known as the wettest place on the planet.

It receives an incredible amount of rainfall, 22 times more than London. The rain pours down so heavily that it's nearly impossible to go outside.

The annual rainfall in Mawsynram reaches about 11,873 mm, which is almost 11 times more than the notorious rainfall of Glasgow, and a staggering 22 times more than the yearly rainfall in London.
