On TikTok, Hazel Mckinnie, a cleaning expert, from cleaning company Wee Scotty Cleaners, shared a video on this platform, which gained attention.
In the video, she demonstrates a technique to replicate dry cleaning effects using a specific setting on her Beko washing machine, which she shared with her followers.
In a TikTok post, Ms. Mckinnie showcases the delicate cycle on her Beko machine, renowned for its effectiveness. Despite garments labeled "dry clean only," she introduces a method to circumvent traditional dry cleaning procedures.
As a mother-of-two and proprietor of a laundrette, Ms. Mckinnie places a laundry pod into the washing machine and selects the delicate wash setting, which automatically adjusts to a gentle spin at 800rpm, with a temperature of 40°C.
She emphasizes the simplicity of the process, concluding with the suggestion to hang the garments in a warm room for optimal results, supplemented by a touch of steam.
She said: 'Now all I have to do is hang them in a warm room and they will come up amazingly. All you have to do is maybe just a little steam.'
While Ms. Mckinnie employs a Beko washing machine, available for $305 at Curry's, numerous other washing machine brands feature a delicate washing setting, potentially extending the applicability of her technique.
