A Texas chemistry teacher has been placed on administrative leave after a video of him dressed in women's clothing at school went viral.

The teacher, Rachmad Tjachyadi, who teaches at Hebron High School in Carrollton, Texas, was seen wearing an all-pink dress and a cowboy hat ensemble on Valentine's Day.

The video was shared on social media by a conservative account called "Libs of TikTok," which sparked both outrage and support.

While some criticized Tjachyadi, labeling him a "groomer," many students came to his defense, stating that he had created a "safe space" for them.

A petition was started in support of the teacher, with thousands of signatures gathered so far.

Supporters argue that Tjachyadi is an excellent teacher who explains chemistry well and fosters a fun and inclusive environment for his students.

The controversy surrounding Tjachyadi's cross-dressing attire has ignited a debate about the appropriate dress code for teachers in schools.

Critics argue that there is no place for such behavior in educational settings and that teachers should dress professionally.

On the other hand, supporters argue that Tjachyadi's attire does not affect his ability to teach effectively and that he should be allowed to express himself freely.

Amy Broughton School decided to fire the teacher while others including students supported him.

The school principal, Amy Broughton, addressed the situation in a letter to parents, acknowledging their concerns and stating that the staff member has been placed on administrative leave while the district reviews the matter.

The Lewisville Independent School District, to which Hebron High School belongs, follows the standard procedure in such cases and has not provided further information due to the ongoing review.

Tjachyadi's supporters emphasize that he is not a pedophile or promoting any fetish and that his students themselves encouraged him to wear the dress.
