Social media, numberous user baffled after the the tech giant, Microsoft, replaces default font after 17 years.

If you use Microsoft Office, you may be used to displaying copy in the default Calibri font. 

Unfortunately, if you've been a fan of Calibri since it first appeared as Microsoft's default font in 2007, you're in for a surprise the next time you check your email for the font and new fonts have appeared.

Numerous user expressed their fury after Microsoft replaced the default font after 17 years 

But the tech giant caused an uproar this week after replacing Calibri for the first time in 17 years, leaving many users unhappy.

On Tiktok, a content creator named @cindamcgarrity is showing off Calibri font changes, shocking many people.

She wrote in the text, “Changed the font from Aptos to Calibri before sending the email because it didn’t feel right.

In a similar video, a user who goes by @breakwaterit shows the change of  Calibri font with Aptos. The video has the caption:"Yep, Microsoft has officially changed the default Office font from Calibri to Aptos. Who prefers it?"

In the video, numerous people were baffled by this change, and some even expressed their fury after Microsoft replaced the default font after 17 years.

Microsoft Office officially replaces Calibri font with Aptos 

Calibri has been Microsoft's default font since 2007. This font was described with features of a cleverly rounded font and corners that are visible in larger sizes.

According to Microsoft, the Calibri font has been the default font across all Microsoft products since it replaced Times New Roman in 2007.

Now, Microsoft opted for Aptos last year but has now started rolling out the change to users around the world.

The new default font is Aptos - users do not accept this change. Below the video, many users said that Microsoft changed the default font after 17 years.

One person said: Yep! I hated that. I finally found out how to change it in the Mail settings.

A second wrote: It’s okay. I’ve been there through all the grand switches (I still default to Times New Roman).

A third commented:  The weighting on Calibri is so off, Aptos is so beautiful to me.

Someone else said: Wait til you see the 'new' Outlook. it's AWFUL.

Another continued: Hm, thought something strange had happened with Word recently.
