"As a new grad it is so hard to get a job with no experience,"  she added: "How am I meant to get experience if no one will employ me?"

How am I meant to gain experience if no employer is willing to hire me?" This conundrum is all too familiar to many individuals, as even entry-level positions often demand some level of prior experience.

Coldwell struggled to find a job in the hospitality industry, despite holding a Bachelor's degree.

The TikToker revealed that she had applied to over 100 jobs but received responses from only three of them. In an attempt to broaden her prospects, she even went for an interview at a local theme park, but unfortunately, that opportunity did not materialize either. Coldwell clarified that she did not intend to insult individuals working at theme parks, emphasizing that such positions do not necessarily require a degree.

One person said: I feel her pain! I graduated from college over 50 years ago and had the same problem. People only wanted those with experience.

A second wrote: After many interviews and totally discouraged at that point with them telling me I didn’t have experience, I finally told the last interviewer “no, I don’t have experience and I’m never going to get any if I can’t convince someone to hire me so I can get some”.

While a third commented: Think about your personal lives. Whatever you want to pay somebody to do, do you want somebody with a degree or do you want somebody who actually knows how to do it?

Another added: Degrees are monumentally overrated and they are in no way and indicator of one's talent and ability to do a job.

The problem with degrees they don't mean as much. There are plenty of people with the bank of mum & dad staying on and doing masters. Unfortunately gone are the days of transferable skills. Another said.
